KSP Investigating Dog Attack in Graves County


Farmington, KY (July 5, 2016) - On July 2, 2016 at 10:53 a.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 1 received a report of a male who had been attacked by 2 dogs on Dove Road in the Farmington Community of Graves County.

Trooper William Propes responded to the scene and located Mitchell Slayden, 22, of Farmington, KY with multiple lacerations.

Preliminary investigation shows that Slayden was riding a bicycle when he pulled into the driveway of a residence on Dove Road belonging to Chris Bouland, 27, of Farmington, KY. Slayden was looking for a subject that he believed lived at that residence, however that individual no longer lived there. When he entered the driveway Slayden was confronted by two pit bulls.

As he attempted to leave the driveway the two pit bulls attacked him. Slayden sustained lacerations to his face, head, arms, and legs. He was airlifted to Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN with life threatening injuries.

The two dogs were taken into custody by the Graves County Animal Control. They will be quarantined and monitored for at least 10 days.

The investigation is on going by Trooper William Propes. KSP was assisted on scene by the Graves County Sheriff's Office, The Graves County Animal Control,Mayfield-Graves County EMS, and Air Evac.
