PLUNGE WAS CANCELED YESTERDAY DUE TO EXTREME CONDITIONS

(ANNAPOLIS, MD) 01/25/2014 -- A combination of extreme wind, cold temperatures, ice on the beach and in the water, as well as approaching snow, has caused the cancellation of all activities today related to Plungefest and the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge.

The award recognizes teachers, school administrators, legislators and community leaders who have made notable contributions toward promoting or implementing civic learning to prepare students to be active and engaged in their communities.

FRANKFORT, Ky.  — Kentucky students in grades K-6 have the opportunity to win $1,500 toward college and $500 for their school in the “Dream Out Loud Challenge.” Students are invited to submit an original drawing, poem, essay or video answering the question: “How will I change the world after I go to college?”
