Mr. Richard Benjamin Brandenburg


Richard Benjamin (Buster) Brandenburg, a resident of 321 Sandlin Hill, Oneida, Kentucky, was born on the 30th day of May, 1931 in Kings Mill, Ohio to the union or Paul and Goldie Brandenburg. Buster passed away November 6, 2016 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years old.

Buster is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Irene Brandenburg, of Oneida, Kentucky and one sister, Millie Gillangan of Lebanon, Ohio.

Buster was preceded in death by: His father Paul Brandenburg and mother Goldie Brandenburg, His sisters: Shirley, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Pauline, His brothers: Paul Jr., Elwood, Woodrow, George and twin brothers who died at birth.

Buster and Irene met over 61 years ago and were united in marriage on September 1, 1956 at the Lebanon Baptist Church in Lebanon, Ohio. Buster was an active member of the Sizerock Baptist Church, Sizerock, Ky.

Buster served in the United States Army as a cook. After retirement he became active with the local DAV chapter, which he loved.

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing. Buster was an avid golfer from the time he was a young adult, and introduced many family and friends to the enjoyment of a round of golf.

Buster's family would like to express a sincere "thank you" to the Manchester Memorial Hospital doctors, nursing staff and employees for the loving care they gave during his brief sickness. We would also like to thank Britton Funeral Home for their professional kindness shown to us.

Funeral services for Richard Benjamin (Buster) Brandenburg will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 2:00 o'clock P.M., at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel, Manchester, Kentucky, conducted by Bro. Carl Brown and Bro. Jesse Martin. Interment will be at the Maxiline Baker Cemetery, Oneida, Kentucky, following the funeral services.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at the Britton Funeral Home, Manchester, Kentucky.

Pallbearers: Carl Richard Barnes, Andrew Richard Barnes, Elmer Wayne Webb, Harvey Gene Webb, Gregory Scott Webb, Phillip Lewis, Justin Webb and Darrell Burns.

Honorary Pallbearers: Carl Barnes, Emmitt Woods, Ronald Ledford, Ray Martin and Danny Turner.

Britton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
