Mrs. Gladys Gilbert Mooney Owens, 75 of Louisville formerly of Manchester departed this life on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born on Friday, March 1, 1940 to the union of Floyd and Gracie Gilbert.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Phillip Mooney and Elizabeth Charleston, 6 grandchildren: Jennifer Mooney, Andreah Hines, Phillip Henry, Aaron Mooney, Keoente Mooney, and 4 great grandchildren: Breonna Hines, Johnsua “Bam Bam” Miles, Jr., Kaiden “Duke” Hines, Ri’eonna “the Dutchess” Hines. Also surviving are her siblings: Jennings Gilbert and Patricia, Jo Walker, and Nellie Carter, her sister-in-law: Eva Gilbert, Cousin: Shirley Potter, special friend and bingo buddy: Louise Pugh, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Floyd and Gracie Gilbert, her brothers: Jo Dan Gilbert and Robert Gilbert, sister: Leona Birch, and her nephew: Russell Lee Birch. Funeral Services for Mrs. Gladys Gilbert Mooney Owens will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry D. Coleman will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilbert Cemetery in Manchester.
Visitation will be held on Monday after 11:30 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
