Danville, Ky. man arrested by LSO Officers off North Laurel Road charged with Importing Heroin

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Taylor along with Deputy Landry Collett, and Shift Sgt. John Inman arrested Michael Lee Stephens age 42 of Scrub Grass Road, Danville, Ky. on Friday night August 14, 2020 at approximately 10:56 PM.

The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off North Laurel Road approximately 3 miles north of London while deputies were on routine patrol and observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business there.

Deputies conducted an investigation on an occupant found in the vehicle finding the individual in possession of suspected Heroin, suspected Methamphetamine, dispensed syringes, and a large amount of US currency.

Michael Lee Stephens was charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense – Heroin
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Importing Heroin
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

This subject reported purchasing the suspected Heroin in Dayton Ohio.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
