Colleagues and Fellow Veterans, Last week I was at a ceremony where the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, and the Joint Chiefs signed a letter that will go to all transitioning service members, urging them to continue serving the nation as civilians in their communities and in their new jobs.

Kentucky rising junior may win scholarship, photo shoot

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 12, 2015) — A rising junior at one of Kentucky’s public or private high schools will win a $500 scholarship and a photo shoot at his or her school through the “Promote Your School” scholarship contest, sponsored by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).

Clay County residents can apply for college scholarship

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 10, 2015) — Clay County residents have until May 1 to apply for the Kentucky Coal County College Completion Scholarship. The scholarship helps residents of the state’s coal‐producing counties complete a bachelor’s degree.
